Paint one wall a different colour?

I am getting ready to paint the walls in the garage, and looking for inspiration and ideas.

Most look to paint the walls white and then paint the bottom half another colour, like red or grey etc.

I have been considering a different approach, and even though I have tried to search here I have not found anyone else that has done this.

My idea is to paint three of the walls white and one of the walls red. I am just having a slight problem visualising this...

Anyone else here done this?

Paint is fairly cheap, try it and see if you like it. If you don't, simply repaint it. I have seen a lot of rooms in homes that have different colored walls.

I'd try it too... I kinda like the idea. I'd keep the majority of the walls white just to keep it bright, but one wall colored would be interesting.

aka an accent wall. We have a couple of rooms in the house that have one wall that is a different color. They are all the same family of colors, just a different shade. I think one red wall would look pretty good.

Another option to painting might be a wall mural. I picked up a 4' x 25' roll of an ocean seen at a school supply store for $25 with tax. Here is a great site for ideas there are cheaper ones.

My wife is really good about pulling colos out of pictures also. If you have a picture that you will hang on a wall you can pull a background color out of the picture as your wall or accent trim color.
Here is another idea page if you have money to spend?

Here is a pic of mine. I did the 2 tone but also did one wall darker than the other without 2 tone. This pic is before I put the moldings on. I did the same darker color for moldings around doors/windows and between the 2 tone.

I like the picture that snopro posted. I think as has already been said, paint is cheap, so will do one wall red and see how it turns out :)

I also like the mural idea, but wonder if it might not get to much. Next I will have to decide which wall to paint red! I will follow the style threw into the workshop and other rooms, so there will be a red wall in each room I think.

Another problem with the mural on the wall idea is that all the walls are stone, so probably hard to get vinyl etc to stick to the wall properly!

Again on the mural idea, I had already considered having a "Porsche" related picture (I am a Porsche man!) covering the doors on the cupboards in the garage rather than painting them - but not sure about this yet.

Will paint the walls next week and see how they look first...

Thank you for the help and suggestions :)
