Now that the wifes 14 x 32 shop is almost done, she has decided that it really looks great, but the floor *****.Its a hobby shop, stained glass, sewing, photography, and a place to get away from everyone. Epoxy would be overkill, and besides, its all trimmed out so sanding and acid would be a mess that I dont need.Whats a premium quality paint that we can use, decent fill,no exotic prep work ? I would like to extend it into the bathroom as well,so a certain ammount of water resistance is required. The concrete was poured almost a year ago, and coated with cure and seal, most of that is worn off now.

VCT sounds like a good possiblity for this project!

Doubt you will have anybody suggest a paint or epoxy without sanding off the sealer. Good luck.

I can't recommend paint as ulitmately it will peel, particularly since sealer was applied to the concrete. With appropriate prep, epoxy would be a good option.

Given that it is a hobby space, rather than a traditional "garage" space, you have some options for flooring. VCT, as the other member suggested is a durable option, although not one that is my preference as I don't care for the look. You could use a porcelain tile which would give you considerable color design choices while still providing a nice look, although tile jobs of this type can push the budget. I would have to double check if the right thin-set is available without additional floor preperation. There may be a suitable mastic alternative.

One of my company's offerings is acid stained flooring, although you would have some unwanted floor preparation as you can see from the video of a recent job we performed. http://www.garagethemes.com/blog/bid/42783/Acid-Stain-Concrete-Personalizing-your-garage-basement-or-patio
I must say, women seem attracked to the acid stain design, so that could be a plus for your wife.

Best success on your choice.

VCT sounds like a great fit - what about just plain vinyl like they use for laundry-rooms etc. - you could get some really nice looking finish that will make it feel less industrial.
