paint problems in Santa's workshop

I sprayed this three days ago and just in the area shown the paint is soft, everywhere else it has dried hard and smooth. I have kept it indoors above 70degs. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I was applying the transfers. I am hoping that the paint will cure before Christmas or is that just very wishful thinking? I used the VanSickle brand from Cal Ranch and have never experienced this before.

Looks to me like a synthetic enamel reaction after letting the first coat set too long, then a second coat on top causing the wrinkling effect. Was the paint a synthetic enamel?

I can’t help at all with the paint, but just wanted to say that shovel looks amazing, and I’m sure the recipient will love it!

If it was my project, I'd try to get some heat on it, but not too much. My best guess is that it's just a very heavy layer of paint and, since it appears to be enamel, the layer below the saggy area cannot get the oxygen required to cure so it will take a long time. That's why "several light coats" are better than one heavy coat. In any case, heat will greatly increase the cure rate, but too much heat will make it bubble so it's a dance. Put it out in the sun if it's warm out. Heat lamp from a distance. Hair dryer set on LOW blowing through the tube. You have a month, so if warming doesn't help fairly quickly (day or two) then you will have to go to Plan "B", whatever that is.
