I have used the TSC hardner but how do I test it for you. I added it to the paint, stir, panted the drill press. The paint hasn't fallen off so I guess it's ok. You could call Rustolium and ask them about tinting. I'm sure they have an 800 number.

It works, there is gloss versions of it. While it adds to the cost,,,, mix a little as it's used it speeds the dry time wayyy up. I brushed some on a starter a while back, try to handle in hour in the summer, couple in chillier temps.

I don't know anything about hammered etc but I stock some fac pac colors. red, safety yellow, JD green, black, white, a shale gray that can be tinted either black or white. You can get Ford blue, Cat yellow, it makes them easy to match down the road. I use a bit of custom if it matters,,, hence the JD green but if I can do generic equipment with a generic color I do it. So much easier and can keep using it for other stuff vs left over that never gets used. I spray a lot but aint scared to use a bomb or a sponge brush either when it gets it done.
With equipment don't always make every part perfect, get some purple scuff pads. I hit the top of my washer with DA and roll a little yellow on. Shot a little on the chain fall parts to refresh it, a little red on the front of the washer where it shows. No one ever pulls it out to examine the paint on the back with glasses.

Please remember that these hardeners contain isocyanates. They can be breathed or absorbed through the skin if spraying. They can sensitize you to the chemical, that is to say, you may have no reaction to them, maybe even for repeated use and then one day, bam, you will use the stuff and it will make you sick. There are masks that claim to protect against isocyanates if changed out on a timely basis but the best system is to use a supplied air respirator. Brushing the material is a different story, it's not airborne.

If you really want custom and will spend $ to have great results check auto body suppliers and ask if they mix paint and put it in spray cans. I am doing some body repairs now and this works great. A can of primer, a can of color and a can of 2 part clear is about $80. If you are trying to match something that you can carry to them, they can use their analyzer to get a paint mix. The only downside is the 2 part clear has a pot life after you first spray it of maybe 36 hrs. So, if you don't use the entire can, you lose it.
