I was able to see some of the pics. I right clicked on one of photobuckets famous squares and then pasted it in the address bar, and it allows the pics to be seen. Nice job on things. A lot of the ones you are talking about though, just like the last about painting the cement trucks, I did not see. Oh well.....I'll wait until you get things fixed.

Photobucket *****, they cap their viewing which people hit rather fast when linked to forums like this one.

I don't care for flikr either imgur is much easier IMO and no limits.

The pics don't show up for me either unless I click on them. If you link the actual photo instead of the page it's on it may work better. On the right of the photo page click the second link named "DIRECT" and use that URL for your photos.

I don't want to upload all those pictures again with another photo website. I will try the garage journal way as well. In the meantime I upgraded to the additional bandwidth and its still not working. Contacted photobucket but no response. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the info.

Oh great.....75 damn pics and only 4 shows up!!!!!! C'mon man....WE LIKE PICS!!!!!

And I love the pic of the kitchen. Are the cabinets black, or are they just a super dark brown? I'm filing the kitchen pics into my files. If I can figure a way to make our kitchen brighter without lights on, I would definitely change the cabinet color. That with the stainless looks SUPER.

Sorry I can't comment on your garage because I CAN'T SEE ANY PICS!!!!!!!!!!

Lol... I am working on the pics. Have to work tomorrow so maybe in the evening.

As for the kitchen. Thanks :) We chose a Dark Cherry color as we were living with a TINY white kitchen and my wife wanted some color. As for being dark, it has never bothered us. During our remodel we did hardwire undercabinet lights to brighten the counter areas when needed and we we removed a wall that helps light in as well. We love it and wouldn't change a thing. The very first picture of the blog is a panoramic of the kitchen and once I get the pics working again I will put a close up of the color. Thanks Again

I am from Vancouver Island, however I have worked forestry all over BC and Alberta so I have a keen eye for the plant and topography...

I will subscribe to your thread to keep up on the progress!

Have a look at my garage, it will remind you of your projects I bet! My brother lives in PG right now!

I as well am originally from Victoria but moved to Mackenzie as a kid. Spent 30 years there before moving here to PG.

Also have a sister in Edmonton. We try to come out once a year.

I have checked out your blog. Looks good!! Was trying to figure out where the property was. but I guess all surrounding areas look the same there.

Got the pictures back finally. Photobucket locked me out because of too many 404 messages. I don't even know what that means. But I will continue on updating now.

So now that the pad is done we unfortunately have to change priority as our yard is a mess. The dogs are tracking dirt and mud everywhere. We need to call the bobcat guy back and level this out. You cant see it in pictures but there is quite a drop off to the rear left of our yard. we need that brought up as well. We are removing the cracked cement pad as well. It came in handy at times but is uneven and cracked badly.

Why don't you make a album in your garage journal profile and upload them there?

Or if using your phone download tapatalk and keep them in your albums vs using a app like flicker, dropbox etc. That's what I do.

I haven't had too much time on here the last few days because of work but I will try the Garage Journal album when I have can find some time.

Thanks, Bob

Well the Bobcat guy came over for a day and a half. He was able to remove the cracked pad, scrape the yard, bring in 8 loads of sandy loam and level it, in that short period of time. he is good!!

Well now that the yard work has been cleaned up. we need to dig a trench for the gas line, electrical and the alarm system. The trencher that I rented worked very well but a lot of the dirt sluffed back into the trenches, and didn't cut through the bigger roots. I thought that knocking down the hill for the pad was hard work. Not even close to cutting roots and hand digging the sluffed dirt out. 140 feet for gas line and about 60 feet each for the electrical and alarm. Laying on my belly for hrs was not my idea of a good time.

As well as putting the lines into the shop. There was no better time to put underground sprinklers in, front and back. We never have time to worry about moving sprinklers so this is a worthy investment for us, as we will be sodding the whole back yard before building the shop.

The green lines are the sprinkler lines.

This is the front yard. You can tell where the neighbor waters his yard.

Here we are finally getting somewhere. All the lines to the garage and sprinkler system are in. Now one final leveling of the yard before the sod. My brother-in-law driving the quad dragging a grate. this worked very well. He was enjoying it so much we couldn't get him to stop.

Somehow missed the concrete pad pics.

Its smart you ran all the lines while the yard is already torn apart!

Looking forward to the garage build!

Before we went on a little vacation to Vancouver we were able to get our sod down. Now everything we wanted to do before actually building the garage is done. My trusses are ordered and should be in before Sept 15. So this coming weekend we are going to frame the walls, weather permitting. I'm still on the fence about how many windows to put in, if any. Unfortunately we have had some little bastards in our yard stealing stuff and I'm a bit paranoid about the garage. The thieves have never broke into anything, just gone through peoples yards and unlocked vehicles. I'm also trying to decide about using either a 16' or a 14' wide overhead door.(opinions welcome) I have till Saturday to decide.

Here is pics of the yard now. We had lots of great help from family, neighbors and my Daughters friend.

Nice transformation Painter....that sod makes quick work instead of seeding....I will work on mine during the winter....I have to put some drainage so I will wait until it cools off....

Instant lawn looks great. Everyone needs a minion, or two! Put your windows up high to discourage onlookers as to what's inside, but still let natural light in. If you are planning on using the garage as a two-bay, I'd go with a 16' door. I only have a 20'x18' with a 16' door and I wouldn't want anything narrower, JMO.

Was a great day today, sunny and over 20 degrees Celsius. We got more done than I thought. The walls are all up and capped with some sheathing on to keep them square. Will finish the sheathing tomorrow and wait for the trusses to come in next week sometime.

The windows were a huge topic of discussion for us. No windows , 1 window, 2 windows. I do really want the natural light coming in. We decided that we will frame for 2 windows at normal height as we will alarm the shop. We will leave the sheathing up and decide afterwards. As for the doors I went with a 36" man door and the 16' overhead door. The overhead door will have windows in the top section. Every person I talked to has regretted having 2 smaller doors.

Well we managed to get all the sheathing on and not to soon might I add.:rocker: It poured rain for most of the day... after we finished. All that is left is to cut out the window holes as they are framed already. only a couple quick pics .... had to go to work.

Looking great!!! It was nice here until today when the snow started flying... I hope you don't see the white stuff for a bit!

Thanks, Everything came together very well, maybe to well. The shop is EXACTLY square. I don't know if that was the calm before the storm but it was nice to have no troubles. Hopefully the trusses come in this week.

We didn't get the snow here... but we heard it was snowing in Mackenzie, a couple hrs north. We do get a later snow than them so I'm hoping we have a couple more months before it stays.
