I have a Kurt D60 vise I recently blasted and am regrinding for my Bridgeport, I've purchased some Rustoleum Ford Blue or some color like that, but I was curious whether or not I should prime this vise, or should I just spray the blue color direct over metal? Or prime first?

Read through the Vise Repair 101 thread and I'm sure you'll find lots of recommendations for painting vise.

My vote is paint couple coats of primer, then proceed with final color.

I have a Palmgren vise waiting to sandblast. If I decide to use a rattle can to paint it, I will skip the primer. If I can get outdoors long enough I prefer the two part urethane top coat and self etching primer, but it is a lot of work. wing nut
