I need to paint my pole barn / shop. Steel siding. Any idea as to what it should be prepped with or just handle it as I would painting a car. Prepsol etc. Spray it or brush and roll it?

I would pressure wash it and use Tri Sodium Phosphate (Dry powder ) mixed with water as a cleaner sprayed through a garden sprayer. It removes all of the oxidation. You can buy it at lowes. I have never painted a pole building but I have painted several older Mobile homes. (I use to pressure wash/paint as a side business) I very rarely rolled one. I used an airless sprayer and a brush to chase out the runs. But I am sure rolling it would do just as well with less runs and less paint used. But alot longer. If spraying just be carefull not to do it on a windy day or have any cars or other houses to close you don't want pokadotted.

Any ideas of what to paint it with.
Latex is not going to be my first choice. I'd rther have something that would last much longer.....Like forever.

Sherwin Williams sold me a paint years ago for painting aluminum siding. I preped with the TSP, and used a painting pad. Went quick and has held up fantastic.
