Will be ready in a few days to start painting the inside of my new shop.I have used osb on the inside and was thinking that the ink on the board may bleed through the paint.Should I use a stain blocker first?

Absolutely use Kilz, the paint might cover the ink however the osb will soak up the paint like a sponge without the Kilz.

I just did my garage with paint over OSB. I used the paint from Lowes with the built in primer. It covered over the ink and had full coverage in two coats. I tried a can of cheap contractor grade white I had and it didn't cover a 8x4 sheet.

I tried the cheap paint/primer stuff from Menard's (black 5 gallon bucket) and it was absolute **** and got returned.

Watch what you buy Reg1952, alot of times you get what you pay for.

I used a latex primer from Menards but I don't remember the brand. Then 2 coats of gloss latex paint. I used a 1 1/4" nap roller. It looks great & the gloss paint will hopefully allow me to clean it once in a while.

Oil base Kilz for me also. I just put two coats of kilz and that is all I used. Nice even flat white color, works fine for me.

I used one coat of Menards' oil based primer, and then one coat of their cheapest latex paint on top. Coverage was excellent.
