Nice sign! Did you paint that? If so, those would be a big hit at artsy fartsy craft shows. Nice work.

Thanks, I did paint the sign. It's the second one i've done. The lady I made it for bought a pallet flag from me. A week later she finds out her husband has cancer with a year or two. I knew she would appreciate the sign and the practice would help me. It's inspired by signs I saw on Etsy.com.

I'm sure she will cherish it long after. Your painting skills should serve you well with the type of projects you like to do.

As you may have noticed, I'm a big fan of pallets. From breaking them down to preparing the wood. If I screw up, just chuck it in the firepit and grab another piece.

I am planning 1 or 2 bathroom remodels using pallet wood and seasoned corrugated up at the cabin.

Keep the pics coming..

I still need a lot more practice with painting. Those thin lines are a real pain. I have enjoyed working with pallets.

I would really like to have a firepit so I could burn all the scraps. Maybe next year i'll make a concrete one.

I'd like to see pics of the bathroom remodels once they are finished. I've been looking for seasoned corrugated, metal roofing, and barn boards.

Here's the flags I made for the local guy. He wanted one Betsy Ross style and one with 50 stars. I made stencils for the stars so at least I won't have to cut them out again.

If you have an outside clothes line, then you probably need one of these. Made from salvaged oak pallet boards.

I had this tray to use when I am grilling. I got tired of making a ton of trips going in and out of the house. The red and blue are wood stain instead of paint. The stars are painted on. The metal handles are old forks I bent up. The whole thing has a couple coats of poly to help with the clean up.

Nice and great idea! Funny you should post today, just hauled a bunch more from my neighbor. I recently bought an aluminum camper shell for my truck. Just figuring out a sleeping platform and storage for it. I'm sure pallet wood will find its way back there.

Been kinda busy around here with a new Grandson and the rest of the tribe. Still gotta get a pallet popper welded up haha.

Years ago I bought a planer and built the mobile stand for it.

I had a pallet left over from a wall stone delivery so I busted it up and ran it through the planer. There were some BEAUTIFUL boards and some garbage boards.

I built a makeup box for Mrs No_Garage with the BEAUTIFUL boards. I went to take a picture of it now and it's overfilled so I only took these 2 pics. The pictures do not do the wood justice - it hides my mediocre woodworking skills though!

Maybe I need to build her a slightly bigger one. . .

Cheers

Jim

These are some really cool ideas!

The girl friend wanted a sign like some she saw on Pinterest. I grabbed a free one from work and taught her had to work the sander and safety equipment and how to stain. Pretty cool what a sander and some stain can do. The words were printed out on normal computer paper, then traced with a ball point pen to get them indented on the board. Then using the indents of the letters as a guide, painted using a brush and A LOT of time. Lol. Turned out well though, she loves it.
