Pallet rack shelving in tandem garage help needed.

Ok, just moved into the house and I have a TON of boxes that indeed access to regularly.

The tandem part of my garage is 10' 9" wide... Can I do a 24" deep workbench on one side and leave the racks in place? The racks are going to be 9' tall and 24" W. I am looking at the Edsel off the shelf individual parts tuff at lowes. Is there a better source for 24" pallet rack?

You might try looking on CL or a local mfg or company going out of business or moving or for a local pallet rack company. Most Pallet Racking Co.have used pallet racking of various sizes for cheaper than you can buy *cheapie residential* type storage racks. We found some pallet racking 36"wx18'x84'long in 7 foot sections for $450 on CL, we just cut it down to 10'6" high so it would be a more manageable size.We had just started installing it. This stuff will support 4420lbs per shelf.

i like the pallet racking at menards alot more than anything i've seen at lowes. thats what i ended up with for my tire rack. used 17" racking

Get on Craigslist and you will find tons of pallet rack. Finding the depth you want will be the challenge I think. I ended up with 36" deep racking which works pretty well for me but if you have depth limitations I think 24" might be hard to find. For what it's worth I love my pallet racking. It makes a great bench and is awesome for storage. One word of advice, make sure you get large Tupperware or bug cardboard boxes for anything new you plan to put on the racks. I failed to do this and now one section of racking I have is too cluttered and needs to be redone.
