Palm grip drivers, anybody know about these?

Picked this set up in a pile of free stuff. Neighbor's daughter cleaning out her dad's house.

Made in USA, don't look like they were ever used. The 7/16 is missing.

Did any other manufacturer stamp their Phillips license on their screwdrivers, or did they not bother to get licensed at all? When did the patent expire?

I have a couple of older Craftsman Phillips with the patent date or number, forget which.

Nice snag. Look for a Palm Grip brand ratchet off Ebay. They often go cheap.

Not sure what you call cheap, the lowest price on Ebay right now is $19.95 plus shipping, buy it now. From there they go on up to $60, OBO free shipping. A new equivalent SK is $44.56 on sale plus shipping, I didn't check Snap On, or any other brands.

The SK is chrome plated and knurled, doesn't look as comfortable to use as the Palm-Grip

I see what you mean, I went back and looked at completed items. Quite a few were under $20 to start, and sold Best Offer. There were quite a Few similar Walden branded ones, but none like them show in current offers.
