I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a palm nailer or some other tool to put either 3/8 rebar or 8 inch spikes with 3/4 inch heads into timbers when making a small retaing wall? All the holes for either the spikes or rebar will be predrilled if that makes a difference. Any model palm nailers that will work for this it any other tool that will get the job done? I know the easy thing to do would be to just use a big hammer or sledge for the rebar but unfortunately because of medical reasons I can't do that...bummer. Anyone have any ideas?

I used an air hammer with a hammer faced bit to pound 8" spines before. Worked pretty good too. I'm not sure if a palm nailer would have enough power though. That said, I've never used one.

When I use to help raise large tents for events. We used an electric hammer drill with a long impact socket on it for over the rebar. Drove them right into the ground. Of course ours was not the HF junkomatic

It's only junk the second time you try to use it.
