So I bought a Ridgid palm sander this weekend in anticipation of sanding a lot of wood for the shop.

My question to you guys is, are there any tricks for replacement paper? I know I can buy sheets and cut them down but they don't have the holes in them for dust collection.

In the past I just cut the paper and used it, not caring about dust. But now my shop is covered in wood, drywall and concrete dust and I'm trying to mitigate that going forward...

What say you guys?

In my case, the dust collection is minimal, vs amount sprayed about. I have an older Makita ROS with the bag. Hooking up to the shop vac helps some. I work in the driveway whenever possible.

That appear to be a crappy way to get you to buy a certain brand of paper. Both my ancient PC 340 1/4 sheet sander and my newer Bosch 1/2 sheet sander came with punch plates. After you place your choice of sandpaper on the sander, you press the sander ontl the fitted puch plate and it poke the holes in the paper. You could probably make your own with some plywood and some #10 or #12 screws.
