i have two of those, but i stripped the paint of both of mine (both were very rusted!) and got powder-coated signal blue.

how do i link images to this thread?

Please post pics, I'm really curious to see!

You can link from one of the icons above the message IIRC, but with all the photobucket mishaps, the best way IMO is to upload directly to the site using ATTACH FILES, MANAGE ATTACHMENTS below.

I only have 1 par-x tool, and it’s this 6” 1/4”drive extension. It’s actually a fairly recent purchase (this year). I can’t remember if I got it from the pawn shop (I made a pile of US made tools and bought them) or if it’s from one of my $20 Craigslist/marketplace tool box purchases..

It went into my main box, and was put into regular use

Edit: I just went through my pictures and it came out of a toolbox I paid $50 for, that had a 9-19mm semi shallow Snap-on socket set in it, along with a bunch of USA craftsman. Money well spent

Here is my Par-X tool. A flare nut wrench that pretty much resembles it’s Snap-on cousin. The angle of the opening is slightly different.

Attached are photos of the Par-X tools and box I got from my grandfather:

The quarter inch ratchet looks like they took a contemporary snap on mold, roughed it up a bit, then ran the Par-X parts. My grandmother seems to remember these were sold to government agencies/military, and the truck dealers knew not to take them on trade in.

Have a Par-X 1/2" drive ratchet, pretty nice shape. Probably end up on Ebay, unless someone here wants/needs it.

This 1/4” drive Par-X spinner arrived in the mail yesterday. It was part of an eBay lot that included a S-K extension. I rarely find any Par-X tools.

Welp, as long as you bumped it, I found and reported this No. UDP 142 (Phillips #2) screwdriver - with a similar if not the same translucent amber handle - on the GS thread (2022_40) last week, but never posted it anywhere else. A little chewed up and gnarly.

I bought my second PAR-X spanner yesterday and the first was only a couple of months ago. Both are made in Canada but have notable differences. The 5/8" combo is much better finished and has no hyphen between the R and X. The 1/2" combo has no attempt to polish the forging on the shaft and to the bottom of the ring. It has a hyphen between the R and X and the A and R are underlined.

Morning sale find...snap on box caught my eye, but filled with nice condition Par X 1/4 set. Think it's just missing the breaker bar. Will get a little oil and light clean up

That is a PX-2B model. Par-X also had a larger PX-1B 4 drawer top box.
Twenty or more years ago, at Tannehill Trade Days, I came across a mint PX-1B at a good price. Problem was the event was so huge and we were parked so far away, sanity prevailed and I didn't try to carry it back to the car.

Nice find!

There was no breaker bar with the set. 13 pieces - Spinner handle, ratchet, two extensions and 9 sockets from 3/16 to 1/2.

Kinda funny, 7/32 socket matches everything physically, but must have missed the letter stamper

"How much is the Red Tool Chest?"
"Uh . . . twenty dollars, but it's half off today."

Par-X, PX-2B
Some minor denting. Some rust. Basically sound. Pretty close to impossible to leave it behind.
