We have a few eyeball lights in one room with ELCO EL985W trims, which are supposed to take PAR20 bulbs. I have bought two different PAR20 bulbs and they will not fit into the clip ring. The original SATCO bulb is exactly 2.5" (within 1/128") but I have bought two different PAR20 bulbs that do not fit. The trim looks like it's about 1/32" wider in diameter than the SATCO bulb, so the replacements I've bought must be bigger than that. Is this common? One was a GE and I forget the other but they are both at home.
I'd like to get some nice high-CRI bulbs that would fit, but I suppose I could get new trims. They aren't expensive.
