We use it to temporarely hang pipe while we are running it at work all over a ship. Its cheap and easy to cut but strong. Tie a rolling hitch in one end over another point and a bowline arround the new pipe. The rolling hitch makes height adjustment easy

So what is the big deal with paracord? It's an honest question as I see it as another passing fad. :dunno:

Holds a decent amount of weight (human weight), without snapping, is lightweight, and takes a long time to degrade. That's it.

I think some of the stuff people make are kind of corny for actual use; more or less a cosmetic thing. I keep some in my car but it's just loose in a circular wrap so I don't need to cut it to use it.

Fun fact: I started that trend. About 4 years ago I wrote a guide and made a video tutorial on overclock.net

Really took off. Glad I don't do it anymore, tedious work.

You're not that Lutro customs guy are you? If so your vids are what inspired me to do the wire sleeping, as I found the threads and stuff on overclock.
