Can anyone tell me please if the flat bar on the quick release mechanism on a Paramo number 41 Engineers Vice should be twisted at one end as seen in the pic?
Many Thanks for any help.

I believe the answer is no.

I don't have one around to check anymore but, I found one on eBay that shows a photo from underneath

Check out Vintage Paramo No 41 Engineering q/release Vice - Superb Original Condition. on eBay!

So take a look at the last photo this seller posted

Should be flat.
Sometimes they get bent because users think you can release the vice tension using the QR, Sometimes because someone has twisted it trying to make the thing work properly when they should have adjusted it properly or replaced worn out parts.
