I noticed that these members Paramo Vises have this distinct little edge at the border of the mounting tabs. The one I just picked up does as well. Pardon my first attempt at the squiggly arrow, but it's in there. Some Paramos don't have this detail.

Also, does having the "Made in England" on the left side of the vise, forward, make for a newer vise or does this just denote mold changes, etc. The ones of this style in my mind, appear newer. The lines look a tad different.

I've included the yellow Paramo, which I don't think has the ridge.

I thought of this. Since one could delete or add the swivel base and still have a functioning tool, I don't obviously know the reason

The first 3 look like #6, the last looks like a #4?
Here's my 6

BAR,

That's a solid looking piece. Did you have the chance to weigh it ? I threw the last photo (right lower corner) to illustrate the made in England on the left side, and perhaps newer vintage ?

Your vise appears to have the edge I observed. Aside from casting details, does anyone know how a vintage Paramo's year of production can be determined ? (I won't fall for the dated trap today !).

What's the history of your P6 ? It looks like it sat, and appears to be in very sound shape.

Yeah, it weighs 105 with the base... it is actually on a doctor scale getting weighed in the picture. I picked it up from a little old lady in Uvalde.... it belonged to her father
