Paramo No. 6 Hi-Duty Vice

I figured I'd post this for anyone out on the west coast that may be looking for a large quality vise...

eBay: PARAMO BENCH VISE 6" JAWS MADE IN ENGLAND


It looks to be in excellent shape. It even has the swivel base, which can be seen in the background. Seems like a steal at $90, and still a great deal at $180.

I saw this vise auction and I've been trying to get decent answers out of the seller but all he says is "non swivel base" even after I pointed out the base to him in the 2nd picture. What really chapped me was I wanted to arrange a pickup date and time within a 4 hour window of when I would actually be in LA and tried to run it by him. All I got was "pickup time/date to be arranged if you buy the vise" Doesn't quite work out for me seeing as I am only in LA but 4 times a year... Maybe someone else will have better luck.

It's back, but the starting bid is now $130. He now has a picture of the swivel base; turns out that it's cracked.

TheWhiteMamba: Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. These Paramos are excellent vises. I have a No. 1 & a No. 4 myself, and I'm always on the lookout for more. Unfortunately, I'm on the wrong side of the country for this one.

Not a big deal here. I've been scouring Craigslist for a decent vise for quite a while now and never thought to look at eBay only because I figured shipping would be astronomical on any vise of a decent size. Turns out I was wrong and there are plenty of nice Wiltons and others for under $100 shipped! I was doing this wrong the whole time!
