I acquired a parker 434 1/2 vise yesterday that has play in handle. I read that there is an adjustment. Does anyone know if there is a adjustment or do i just replace the handle?

Thank you

Some models had set a screw centered in the meatball that u can take up the lash.

The ones I have restored used a brass plug backed up with a spring and a set screw. Some use a goofy thread that I can't remember the size but if you are lucky the end of your Meatball should be tapped with a 5/16:18 thread. If so then using a 1/4" ball bearing with a spring will keep the handle at the correct tension. Parker used a loose fitting handle hole with this tension er setup so the handle stays where you leave it.

Most here try to help and not give such wise crack answers, after 5 posts you can add some pictures that really help in answering questions.

Thank you for posting the pictures. I have the exact handle pictured.
