Hi all. I just discovered this site while researching one of my vises. It is a Parker 88 1/2 that I got from a friend several years ago - his father used it for years before his death in the early 60s. I'm going to finally mount it on a movable stand and use it for various projects around the ranch - leaving the "original" orange patina. It's tight and smooth. It was missing the pipe jaw on the dynamic jaw so I cut one yesterday and will cut some new teeth on it and then harden it later this week. Any help on age, original intended use, history, etc. are welcome - suggestions as to mounting it would also be appreciated.

Here's an ad from 1909. Do a search for vise stand here or on google images and you'll get loads of ideas for mounting it.
