Just picked a Parker #88 vise for $80, a good price. It's in good working condition, I plan on cleaning it up, not a full restoration. One of the vise jaw pins was replaced along with the swivel nut handle. I'm having trouble removing the base nut, I think it's a 1 3/8". If I can't remove it I'll work around it. I'll post photos soon.

I took the vice apart except for the jaws. They can be tough to take off, I didn't see the need to remove them. The large bolt holding swivel base was tough to remove. I needed a 1 3/8" socket to remove it but came off. I hit the vice with a wire wheel to remove the grime and years of crud. I am not going to paint this one, at least not now anyways. I also made a new pin for one of the vise pipe jaws as well as a new screw for the end for the swivel clamp bar. I really don't need this vise but the price was good and I enjoy cleaning them up. I may keep it for a while, who knows. It slides smooth as most Parkers do. Parker 88.jpgParker 88a.jpgParker 88b.jpgParker 88c.jpgParker 88d.jpg
