Obviously I should hae done more research as it needs some work or parts.
He had the base tensioned up tight at the sale so it appeared tight.
When mounted to the table, the base won't stay together with any pressure on the vise.
It opens and closes smooth as butter. Also the jaws are in excellent condition.
Both Lock rings are broken and it has no center pivot pin. Things I will need to locate or have manufactured.
One question. Is the center pivot pin suppose to be threaded in because my vise has no threads in it as pics show.
Thanks for your help, mp.

That's one of the later production.

It's possible to weld those rings and have them function. Since the rings don't have much mass, it's easy to pre-heat them red hot and then weld. Usually will need some hand-fitting with a file, but no big deal.

Well, couple years later I got tired of this sitting on my shelf.
Pulled it off shelf this morning and had an idea to find something the correct ID for the vise swivel pin.
So I found a 50 year old chisel with the correct diameter and cut it a little long, fit it through the main jaw set into the base. An hour later of cutting and fitting, I peened the top to fit under the mainscrew nut, then cut to length for the base. Drilled a hole through the mfrd swivel pin and put a washer then a cotter pin for easy disassembly.
It’s all together and I probably wouldn’t paint it because I don’t know what I would use. But it is back in service.
I found lock rings on ebay about 2 years ago and used them.
