Hello, Ive been mostly lurking and im stuck on a few things. My 984 is all but completed, im now down to the replacement of the handle. I already fitted it with the ball bearing and spring to make it a "speed handle". The stock handle specs out to 11/16" diameter which is kinda uncommon but i think i can obtain a 3 foot piece of chromoly or whatever somewhere on the internet and id like to cap the ends with ball bearings. I DONT have any equipment to drill/machine any holes except a shopsmith and i would have to purchase a specific bit off of amazon. I was hoping to drill the balls a little undersized and use my mapp (thats all i got) torch to heat up the balls and pound them on the ends. So, heres the questions:1, How do i accomplish the dado/channel on the handle to accept the ball bearing with my limited equipment? What size bit and more importantly, how deep? 2 Im pretty stumped on the reality of not having the proper tools to deal with the whole ball bearing/handle stuff so any ideas, help, folks who have the equipment to help....i would appreciate OH, i forgot, i also have a 954 ill be refitting with a new handle but that vise has smaller dimensions so nothing will crossover, thanks all in advance, Tom
