Hello Y’all!
New to making an account but I have viewed for a while and you all have the best knowledge about vintage tools, and I have a favor to ask if anyone can help.
I recently had the pleasure to acquire a Parker no71 swivel vise in excellent shape. I am thrilled and have been trying to get a swivel jaw vise for gunsmithing for quite a while. The sole damage on the vise is the swivel lock mechanism is missing as the casting broke off who knows how long ago. I found the catalog picture of the vise but I am not exactly sure how it works and I was hoping someone may have a Parker vise with the same mechanism for reference. It is a totally unique Parker mechanism as far as I can tell.
Thank you for any help or insight you all can provide!

Lower left image in this image may be a clue. Someone near there just acquired one, so maybe reply to his post, see if he can help.

If anyone sees this I managed to fabricate a replacement piece and braise it into the existing base and thread a boss to attach the swivel base. This vise is awesome. It has a very *********** depth for a 3.5 in vise of 4.25. It will be an excellent gunsmithing vise. Will upload photos after paint. I need to get a taper pin machined as the old one broke on removal. It is beyond my machining skill.

Will add more pictures once I have the taper pin made. This is my favorite vise I own it is very smooth and tight and grabs a gun barrel perfectly. Chemical rust removed primed and painted. My swivel base lock works perfectly.

I know you all have seen a lot of step by step from me but I finally have finished it until I can get some brass jaws made. A friend of mine graciously cut the taper for me and I finished it out on my lathe. I machined a new swivel lockdown bolt and it fits much better. I am over the moon with this vise, thank you all for the support.
