Ok, here it is. I decided to paint the dynamic Jaw as suggested, and I agree, it seems to look more appropriate. I added the painted horseshoe. I made up. I think with the nickel it looks pretty sharp. Im pleased with the restoration.

I second the "Damn fine restoration" JJ.

I don't know where you get the time, but i sure enjoy the vise **** you put up. i also think the painted dynamic jaw looks much better than when you nickel plated it.

as far as your nice brass holder you made the painted job looks fantastic, but the brass looked awesome too.

how's the little mill coming along at the shop? as some would say are the little chips hitting the floor yet?

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: on the Parker

also for some that didn't see it when you inherited it on an old bench do you have a couple before pictures to post on this thread??

Nice job Jon, you setting the bar pretty high. You and btrnuthatch inspired me to fabricate my own Parker Collars. I am only waiting for the Ampco # 21 material to come in.
I bet the Nickle plating is slippery on your handle. Was the thread a 5/16;18 for your spindle handle ball spring detent that holds the handle in place. I went through all mine and found most of the thread size was 5/16;18 except for the 956 which was a 7/16:14. Now go scratch it and get it over with.

Thank you, I have a cad file for the dims if you wish, I can send you a jpeg. I used a 5/16 nc set screw with a nylon tip with a spring. I turned up a small piece of brass for the end. I have posted a few pics of the machining process. I you need any dims let me know, glad to help.
