My Parker vise is finished. I started a new thread to get your opinion on the chrome. I kinda like it. Your thoughts ?

Looks nice, but the dynamic jaw half really needs some paint! Here's one that I've almost got finished:

yea I would do the other half of the jaw in red as well.... and IMO, it needs to be sanded perfect before chromed ;) Is it just paint or did you send it out? I'm assuming paint...

Like said before, what you like is all that matters, it's your vise!

Personally, I'm not digging the chrome. It doesn't look right to me, and the shine from it seems like it could be distracting/irritating. Just my 2 cents, but if you like it, to hell with my opinion.

JJ: i have to agree with the others at this point. there is a little too much of a chrome (nickel) look without the front part of the dynamic jaw painted the same as the static. if you can paint over the nickel then the jaws, slide, screw and that awesome brass screw holder would really POP.

that said if you like it then good enough for me, but you asked so giving my 2 cents.

Well, I kinda threw it together before I left work. It does look a little out of balance. I was going to leave it and paint the horse shoe I made up red and detail the letters white. Now im kinda torn. I am getting addicted to this vise hobby. I will post a few pics when I get it finished painted. Thanks for all your input, Andrews vise is awesome. You guys are awesome.

I'm with the others...:(:(

The nickel plating is a bit much...:shocking::shocking:

Kind of like the "Pimpmobile of Vises"!!!:pimpflash:pimpflash

But, as others have said, "It's your vise, do it the way you like"...
