Parrot Nose Vise Grip Pliers.

I don't know about other GJ members but when it comes to new gizmos, I am a big sucker for new to me contraptions, gimmicks, doohickeys, widgets, etc.
So, when I saw this in the sale bin aisle of my local tractor Supply place I had to buy it. (someone also has a tractor supply post in the GJ).

The original price tag had it listed for $14.99 plus tax; so when I found it marked down to $6.79 plus tax I had to buy it, (always a sucker for new tools ).

Anyhow only time will tell if it works? the one number I found on the package had it listed as #1569520 and it was made in Taiwan for the Tractor Supply Company. I tried taking a picture of the code bars in case anyone needed any more information. The package reads for tightening, clamping, twisting and turning. Made out of Chrom Mo and Corrosion Resistant, durable Steel construction.

Made in Taiwan spoils it for me. I have well over 200 pair of Vice Grip locking pliers, Made in Nebraska. Here are a few. The others are at work somewhere in the shop.

I hear you and although I do not have 200 made in Neb. vise grips, I do own about 60 made in Neb. vise grips; Taiwan at least is a step up over Mainland China in my book.

I bought them to help me grip small parts to pipes and to help me hold some fencing wire over some of my posts.

Cool! I'd buy a pair too - though I'm not sure how they differ from the "locking wrench" vise grip design in utility.

They look pretty well made, pinned top jaw and general fit/finish and material grade appears good .
For less than 7bucks you be loosing if walked out shop empty handed

I got a big old honkin pair, 10" maybe, I've had for years that's always been my go-to to grab onto & hold or turn round objects like tie rods.

Please tell me how a person is able to look at a picture of a tool and feel confident about the quality. I was given a pair of fake Vice Grips. The metal looked good, BUT, the metal was soft. I could not get a tight grip with them because the jaws would distort, so I cut them up and tossed them in the scrap-bin.

Well that why I said look well made.
Pinning top jaw is more involvedprocess in manufacture way they done it, forgings look crisp in finish and well defined markings which generally means forging dies and alloy likely pretty good .
Taiwan also pretty well known for good performing cr-mo locking pliers and I would be pretty sure they better than price he paid .
Buying anything these days is a gamble even trusted brands produce a lot of over priced poor effort products these days so sometimes you got look at finer details of manufacture and take bit of gumption & gamble and at under 7 bucks doubt he be complaining lol .

I have a pair of these and if I remember correctly, they were marketed to be used to hold the hex head of stabilizer bar ends while you use a hex socket on the hex bolt as they are thinner than normal locking pliers. I did use them in this fashion a few times and it worked wonders.

These are sold by Blue Point, US pro tools, Toptul etc, they are all the same and have PAT Ingraved on them, they are cheap and durable mainly used for drop links in rust belt or UK.
