What happened to parts.cat.com? I have bought a LOT of tools from this site over time (7 socket sets, ratcheting screwdriver, 3 screwdriver sets in PAKTY…). It was like cheap Williams and
Snap-on. The sockets look just like Snap-on except for the CAT logo. Some of the tools are even labeled Snap-on, but were cheaper than getting them from Snap-on.

Where did all the tools go?

Here are some examples of the kinds of tools that they used to sell…

I noticed that the majority of the tools were missing from the site earlier this week. I tired contacting customer service via email and kept getting told to talk to my local dealer. Maybe I didn't explain the problem correctly, but the CS rep I was talking to couldn't understand that in the past I could view and order tools off the website and pick them up at my dealer. Can't do that now that the tools aren't there. I might try giving a call next week and see if this is a website issue or if they are doing something with the tool line. I do not really need more Cat branded tools, but it was nice having the option.

I do not need any more either…

I wish that I had bought more when it was easy to get.

Don’t panic they aren’t going anywhere in real life

download a Cat hand tools and shop supplies catalog and look up the part numbers that way. If that doesn’t work then you can use that part number at the dealer to order tools.

Well thats weird. I think they are in the process of re-doing their website. I got a pop-up servery about the site usability that I havent seen before.

Looks like most of the tools are gone! Im going to assume its just until they get a chance to reload them.

Some of the tools were straight up Snap-on branded Snap-on… but cheaper than you could buy it from Snap-on…

Anywho… I am bummed that nothing is available anymore, and I wish that I had bought more. It was the cheapest way to get “Snap-on”… especially the sockets.

Agree, I have worked for Cat dealers for 30 years and it’s a lucky dip more so these days.
The wrenches I have noticed are always only stamped on one side which leads me to think they
are Blue point variant. Snap on are stamped both sides.
the new ones are Williams which are heavy items.
The chrome is never as good as a genuine snap on.
Many of my tools look like the rats have been at them…

The chrome on the sockets looks pretty good.

Has CAT stopped carrying all the tools? The current site has just a few ratchets and extensions as said above.

I bought screwdrivers, a torque wrench, and Snap-On FLF80 from my local dealer in the past few weeks over the phone. If you've got the PN, its pretty straight forward.

That's the most recent catalog I can find online that is accessible to non-CAT Employees.

No, they haven't. Just assumptions as to why the online change, talking about it over in the New Tools thread.

Also, CAT still has a 2016 catalog on their website; https://caterpillar.scene7.com/is/content/Caterpillar/C10863400

And since you have internal access you can download the Dealer Service Tools Catalog which gets updated frequently during the year. It has all the hand tools plus the specialty tools of all kinds.

True. No way for me to link to it though, you need a dealer login. Current version is April 2023.

I was able or get pricing for 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 chrome sockets and ratchets. Even at list price they're much cheaper than Snap-on.

The ratchets were one of the few things that were left on parts.cat.com long after the other tools had gone… they are still on there…

As long as you know that they are Williams (possibly 36t).
