Parts to fix timing light

Hey guys! My most favorite timing light that I've had for about 15 years quit working. It's an older MAC tools brand that I GUESS they don't make anymore, according to my dealer. Anyway..... I don't like to throw stuff away if it can be fixed,(and new ones are expensive!) So I took it apart. It seemed like if I jiggled the pickup it would try to work, so I took that end apart. There it was! The little half square pickup part was broke. So now all I need is that piece!!!! Where the hell am I gonna find that? I have searched and searched on the internets but haven't found any "parts". But what I HAVE discovered is that eventhough MAC doesn't sell that style of light anymore, MSD and Ferret sell one EXACTLY like mine except for the sticker on top. So it's not like it's obsolete. Does anyone know of a source for parts??? Thanks!!

I found that too. That is for a different style of light. BUt what I am wanting to do is just fix what I have. All I need is the little U shaped piece inside the pickup.

A picture would probably help. Also Mac most likely didn't make that light. Might try to find out who the actual maker is and see if you can get parts from them. Another option would be to search ebay for a used gun. Might be able to get one cheaper then ordering the part.

This is what I was going to suggest. Most dealers don't make their own stuff. So, you should find out who the actual manufacturer was and contact them. MAC should be able to tell you who made theirs. Good luck.

A pickup is basically a coil of wire that clamps around a plug wire. So any pickup from any light should work if you could find a non-working one for free.

Also, epoxying you broken one together where it has continuity should take care of it also.
