Parts Wash Cabinet?

Watching "Wheeler Dealer" tonight (Jag MK2 episode) and the guy used a parts washer that looks like a blast cabinet. He put the part in, closed the lid, put his hands into sleeved gloves and washed away. Parts came out looking new. It used high pressure.

I WANT ONE! Anyone know anything about it? I am google searching, but have not found anything yet.

Gel an older Matag JetcClean dishwasher an go fully automatic!

I have a "portable" that runs damn hot, and has VERY high pressure pumps and cleans VERY well.

You can often get them cheap/free as remodel castoffs.

Uh, greasy dirty hands put into rubber gloves, everyone in the shop using it; how do you clean out those rubber gloves?? Or do you just let the grease and crud keep building up???

The one in the video would be the perfect addition to my home shop.

I wonder if a guy could simply build a cabinet similar to a media blasting cabinet except using a water proof tub as the bottom. Then get a small hot water heater and a pressure washer. Fill the water heater with aqueous parts washer solution and **** it out of the heater with the pressure washer. A small fluid pump could return the fluid to the water heater tank.

I like the 'home dishwasher' idea, but would like to use a 'parts washer' solution in it
instead of just water. I wonder if one could be operated from a tank of aqueous parts washer solution? Perhaps connect it to a small hot water heater that is dedicated for this purpose and is filled with solution. You would also need a pump to fill the dishwasher since in your home the regular dishwasher uses the water pressure from the water entering your house to fill the dishwasher.

When I had a wrecking yard in PDX, I just bought each employee their own. They all used the same bathroom, so I don't know if it helped or not.

Zep the people that make solvent makes one that sits on top of a drum and ***** the solvent out of the drum. I have used one of those and it was very nice.

Now if we can design a way to heat it to 135 degrees and spray it under pressure.... in a cabinet, of course.... then I could get really excited.

Anyone have any ideas how to heat and pressure spray it?

I contacted the company. They do not sell them. They only lease them and could not give me a price as it is up to the local rep.

I have the Snap-on version PBC42

It uses a small (12 gallon) reservoir with a cal rod type heater to raise the aqueous solvent temperature. Then it pumps it hot with a cast pump at about 500 psi

The problem with using a pressure washer is that the pumps can't take the heated solution it will cook the pump.

A salesman quoted me around $300 dollars a month for one. Wasnt that practical for me so I went with a Bio circle unit the machine is free you just pay for the fluid.

The dishwasher I use gets the water far above scalding hot; damn near to boiling. I don't think taking solvent anywhere near 200 degrees is a good idea, and the heater element would probably ignite the stuff...

That said, between the heat, sprayer nozzle pressures, and the dish washing soap, it does a good job.

If you can figure out the heater, you can just run the Drain to a reservoir well above the bottom of the dishwasher Dan let the solution gravity feed and recirculate. Just make sure you cut the internal dishwasher element out of the circuit...

I Agree that varsol, etc would be a bomb waiting to happen, but I'm proposing using non flammable, water based cleaners. None the less, the heat range you describe does bring up a couple of interesting considerations:

Would it be too hot for me to put my hands into the gloves? Perhaps I would need to put on wool gloves first to act as a sort of oven mit before putting them into the rubber gloves.

Also,
What effect would this high heat have on the cleaner. I'm sure the water based solvent used in the video above would work, but what about other brands?

at last years PRI there was a demo model that used an aqueous solution with washing soda. Worked quite well but was way out of my price range(over $10K).

I only have about 600 ******* in this thing and I use just hot water no soap at all it works great and run it at about 1000 psi and 160 degrees on the temp and it works great

deeblast makes the pressure wash cabinets for snapon. i picked mine up for stupid cheap and am refurbishing it.

Yes that's a nice one but 7k I'm out plus I don't like the idea of reusing the water my spray cabinet recycled the water and you had to wash the parts after washing them
