Parts Washer Not Working Well

I have a low pressure parts washer with a turntable and a series of spray nozzles, but it just doesn't seem to clean well. Has anyone converted this type of unit to a high pressure, or what gives?

It works ok, for light oil and stuff, but anything that has any amount of grime on it, it just won't do.

Did it ever work satisfactorily? Maybe a good cleaning and change of solvent will restore it to "Like New".
