parts washer solvent

just picked up an old air powered parts washer for really cheap and it actually works great. i was wondering what everybody has found to work the best as far as solvent goes? mostly going to be used for cleaning greasy and dirty car parts

I really like the PSC 1000 from Tractor Supply. About $40 for a 5 gallon can. It works, and doesn't evaporate very fast.

I use kerosene, it works great. Its cheap, readily available and doesn't evaporate.

where at in Fredericksburg are you from? i live in King George and work behind the fairgrounds on Landsdowne road

i thought about using K1, but wanted to hear other peoples suggestions

+1 on PSC 1000, we have and use about 30 gallon of it between the pre dunk tank and parts washer.

I believe the stuff is very similar to mineral spirits....

I'm just north of Purvis Ford, off Rt. 1. I work in Dahlgren, we probably pass each other every day:)

I've been using Kerosene in mine for probably 25 years. I've cleaned a lot of parts with it. One of these days I need to clean the sludge out of the bottom:bounce:

we probably do...i live just up the street from the main gate on 218...small world

i may give K1 a shot. need to go out and invest in a good set of brushes and rubber gloves now to make life easier

I'm hoping to move to Dahlgren area soon and settle in for retirement.
Just waiting for that job to materialize.

its not too bad, and super cheap to live. just by crossing into neighboring counties, housing prices go way up, as does taxes
