I just picked up two of these for $100.00 They came with 4 batteries and the charger. I mentioned the deal to a friend in the Contracting business and he said he did not like them, but would not explain why. I don't do much framing work, but figured it was a good deal. They work fine and think they are pretty neat.

Any reason why some don't like these? Are they temperamental, or expensive to run?

BTW we did have the Dewalt vs Milwaukee discussion. He is a Dewalt guy, I tend to like Milwaukees.

The guys who built my barn both had these, both the framing and finish versions. They worked well and the guys liked them. have to keep batteries cooking at all times, but I suppose that's the trade-off for no hose wrapping around your legs. The gas cylinders seem to be pricey.

I have one at home. For my needs, it's perfect. Gas cylinders come in packs of 2, I haven't been able to use one up on one of my projects yet. Most of my stuff is "frame a new closet, add a partition wall" as opposed to "build a house," though. Instead, what happens is I use most of one, then come back a month or two later and see if it's still good. Sometimes yes, sometimes not. They seem to leak down a little bit once you crack them open.

It's a pretty heavy thing, but not when you compare it to a traditional framing gun plus several feet of hose. I think it uses the same nails as a regular framing gun, just angled clipped head framing nails. I think I saw a box of full head nails the other day that professed to be compatible, though, if that matters to you/your local codes.

Those nailguns are near $350/400 each, new/retail- deal sounds too good to be legit. Pawn shop/craigslist or just beat up/used hard?
