I have a paslode 900420 framing nailer. Normally it works great. I was using it the other day and I noticed it wouldn't power up sometimes (no green light in the handle). I charged up the battery and again it worked fine for a little while and then did the same thing. Tried a different battery and it would do the same thing. Now I can't get it to work at all. There is no green light in the handle. It is like it isn't getting power. I pulled it apart and didn't see any broken wires. Anyone have an idea of what it could be? I am guessing maybe the circuit board went bad? Thanks in advance.

Seem to remember some time ago reading that the battery contacts need a clean and maybe re bend to make sure they are touching, maybe oxidization on the tips? clean both batteries and contacts in the gun. Light would usually flash red if circuit board gone.

It ended up being a bad spark unit. I borrowed a friends and started switching parts. It is going to be almost as cheap to buy a complete used paslode than just a new spark unit. Time to search ebay.

Once you get the gun open and apart there are really only 3 electrical parts. The main circuit board, the spark unit and the motor. The spark unit is the part that the green light is attached to. It has a large black coil unit on a printed circuit board and has a coil wire. It is glued into the handle so you have to carefully pry it out. The problem is they are expensive. To get a new spark unit is about $95 with shipping. I can buy a used gun with batteries off ebay for around $130.

If the green light is flashing and it just doesn't fire I would clean and oil the gun really well. I would also change the spark plug. Mine is notorious for acting up when it gets dirty
