Paslode pneumatic nail gun

I've had this thing for years but hadn't used it in awhile and it's malfunctioning. Air escaping the exhaust and feels like the driver isn't returning.

Are these things too complicated for the normal guy to diagnose and rebuild? All my years of carpentry/cabinetry and never rebuilt one.

No, nailguns are pretty simple. There are plenty of videos of people taking them apart and fixing them on youtube, though I don't know about your particular model. Get a rebuild kit, and go for it. (rebuild kits for most guns are available, and contain the parts that usually wear out. That tells you something about how repairable they are.). I would probably dump a bunch of oil in, and cycle it a few dozen times first, though. They sometimes get sticky when they sit, new oil helps a lot.

It is a pneumatic nail gun or the butane cartridge fired nail gun? If the first a rebuild is within DIY capability. If the second you'll need a pro.

I've rebuilt on old Senco gun, but I think one piece of my kit was undersized, and I struggled. Pretty simple, but don't just fix the one problem, get the kit and replace everything. It will only cost a few dollars more, takes a few more minutes, but will basically refresh it to like new.

probably the seal in the trigger assy . if parts are available they're fairly easily repaired . as mentioned get a whole seal kit & do it all
what model is it?

None of them are that difficult to work on, but some of the early Paslode models can be difficult/impossible to get part for.
If its an F350 it should be no problem to repair yourself.
Did it work fine last time you used it? If so, something is likely sticking and it might not need rebuilt, but disassembled if oiling/cycling doesnt help.

I've tore down and repaired the cordless guns WAY too many times, often in the field.
They are pretty simple once its done a time or two.
Gotta have a 9/64 hex key which sometimes isnt included in sets.

It's a 5300 series. I finally found some decent info on the disassembly/reassembly and ordered the o-ring kits and a new head seal. When I posted I had been tapping the head with a dead blow and it wasn't breaking free. I was concerned that I was missing something so I reached out. I have the head cap off now and waiting on the parts. Thanks much for the direction and the encouragement.

Ive gotten a kit from William Hendricks before. He does YT videos and he usually sends a schematic and instructions with his kits.

Yes. That's who I went with. He answered my email very quickly. He didn't have the cap seal but provided me with a link to another seller that has it.

I just rebuilt my Paslose F350S - 25-30 years old - pretty some and effective. Get a can of their cleaner as well.
