Paslode PowerMaster, Plus or Pro ?

I am on the market for a framing nail gun, after doing my research I pretty much decided to go with the Paslode PowerMaster just to find out it comes in two flavors, Plus and Pro. The Plus seems to handle 3 ' 1/2 nails as opposed to the Pro being 'limited' to 3 1/4 nails, with the Pro being a little lighter (approx 5 pounds). other than that they seem pretty much the same and targeted at the same customer base.

Any word of advice, especially from anybody that used both?

Or is just a question of one product being phased out and the other being introduced to the market? At HD they cost the same.

Thanks for any feedback.

Is there a price difference? I used an old Senco SN 71 (I think) that shot 3.5" nails. It was marketed for use in high wind/ earthquake prone areas. It was like using a 12 ga slug instead of a 22 for a Ramset anchor! Unless you need the higher capacity of course. It doesn't sound like you will based on debating the .25". I use the Paslode Cordless framing nailer, which I am a fan of for most framing projects. That said- if weight is less and price is not too much more, go for lighter weight.

Price is exactly the same, so is capacity. Not even really debating the 1/4" difference, and both will handle both full round head (offset) and clipped head nails.

Oh, and one comes already with the 1/4" air fitting (I've got like 200 of those) and oil, the other with safety glasses (only have like 5 pairs of those).

Just curious if anybody was aware of any specific difference. On Paslode website it does't look like one is being discontinued either.

I was at lowes and looked at the Pro- I believe. It seems like a nice weapon of choice!

I would call Paslode to know what you are getting b/c I assume it's not a cheap nailer. I still vote for light weight ... the Cordless is not that ! It's like 7lb.

Runs the same nails as the Paslode. (I run a lot of Paslode nails in mine) You also get the metal connector foot, so you don't need a separate nail gun. A cover for the regular foot so you don't damage siding or fencing. Mine has been flawless since I bought it!
