My OLD and HEAVY paslode sk312 jammed up again yesterday. Realized 2 bolts were missing on the feeder and the other 2 were a bit worn. Works fine again but will probably need o-rings before too long.

Soooo, what's your opinion...

A) Replace it with something more modern, lighter, and that uses nails that cost half as much

or

B) Keep it running until it blows up for good

Depends on how much you use it. I have a Bostich roofing nailer that blew seals that I hardly ever use. But the kit to fix it was $28. For me that made sense even if coil nails for it became hard to get. I've used it less than 10 times in 10 years.

If you are using it every day and can get nails cheaper for a new gun I suggest doing the math.

It ***** to scrap a good tool but sometimes the dollars make sense.

Rebuild kit is only about 10 bucks, although it doesn't need it yet.

The nails are $50 for 2500 vs $20-$25 for more modern ones. But I don't use it that much. Maybe 200 nails per month on average. Sometimes more if I'm framing a lot or building a fence or other big items.

I sure with Milwaukee would hurry up and make an M18 framing nailer!!!
