I got this idea and made my beta version of an organizer. The base is 1/4” Lexan. I just “eyed up” the spacing on the first attempt.
This 1/4” set hasn’t been used much but is has proven handy a few times. One downfall was having to dig around in the box to find the socket I needed. I have added a couple of sockets to the set. This will explain why some are six point and others spline. The empty position is for a 13 mm that has been ordered. Some less used socket sizes have been omitted from this case to streamline it.
The set is Husky from Home Depot. It was a present a few years ago. I plan to use it a bit and re-do the base plate after I see how it works. The “pins” are 5/16 allthread cut to size. The box is a Plano. The six point sockets are Gear Wrench. This may make a handy grab and go set for simple repairs. Time will tell.
