U said everything is bonded? Hopefully the neutral bar in the subpanel is NOT bonded...

It shouldnt but it still amazes me that there are licensed electricians who do work thats no where near code....

U said hes out of business? Did his license get revoked?

The inspector has no business inspecting electrical if he passes this much faulty hack work!

Many citys/counties dont have an actual electrical/mechanical or plumbing inspector, they have a guy named bob who used to be a carpenter/watches lots of on line videos.
I do work in some areas where the only way you get an electrical inspector is if you do an actual new service install,Then the state inspector will come out.
Other wise youre stuck with bob.

So I had another "final electrical inspection".
I waited until the insulation was in and the newly configured wiring was done to do one inspection.
He came in, looked at the insulation and was walking away when I brought his attention back to the wiring.
To re-cap: I had a new service pulled thu conduit, all cooper and sheathed, the grounds done correctly and a 6' rod ground added. All the breakers now are GE, matching the panel.

He was good with all of it, said the SER cable I had (all aluminum and unsheathed ground) was fine but this was better.

Whatever. I pulled a permit for all of the final mods and he saw it.

I'm now down to needing to hide the garage door opener wires and just do drywall.

I think I'm in good shape.

He is not an electrician, he is an old fart a township hired to enforce zoning. We used to have that, some big ones still do, counties too but we got state now and had some ***** but the current guy is good and practical.
What is sad is that this work has a long service life and can have real booby traps. Same guy that doesn't look at any of the obvious details doesn't pay attention to see if something is bonded or grounded correctly either.
Says a lot for both contractor and spector, 6 guys on internet can play a wheres Waldo game and plainly see half a dozen violations in 30 seconds from a snapshot.

I am a bootleg guy, I don't hang out for this work and only do one for a bud etc. But I do not have a license and not always there obviously for an inspection and cant afford a violation.

Glad to have it done correctly. Thanks to everyone for pointing out the issues.
As a side note, I'm having a deck done, to the back of the garage and another one on the house.

Ten footings to inspect and framing inspection.

This same inspector never showed. Drive by inspections.

Yeah, inspectors are not very impressive in my opinion.

I don't get the PVC LBs mounted to the stud with wires or pull strings coming out of them up to the panel. Shouldn't there be some sort of flex or other conduit between the panel and the LBs?
