Wonder bread makes a great backer for Bondo quick fixes.
Hey, are you the same guy who used the cardboard lid off a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken to patch the hole in the bedroom wall in the apartment I moved into down in Lacey?
The one they just secured with masking tape to hide the hole somebody punched through the wall and then painted over it?

I thought about fiberglassing it with kitty hair and resin but I'm not a huge fan of that stuff. Stinks to high heaven, fairly expensive, and it's hell getting the fiberglass off your skin and out of your clothes. I used in a few weeks ago and I was itching and scratching until I took a lint remover roller to my arms and legs.

Anyway, I was using it on a spoiler that a buddy gave me; it came with a good decklid, too, but the spoiler had been badly damaged and poorly repaired, so it took a bit of effort to undo the prior repairs and fix it to where it hopefully won't fly apart at 120 mph.

Do you own the blue pacer ?

I do not. Belongs to a local AMC guy who I bought the Javelin from. It would be a fun 24 Hours of Lemons car. Buddy of mine in Houston races a killer Gremlin in Lemons - has built 6 cylinder and it's quick - but racing a "fishbowl" would be even better.

Also for stuffing into copper water pipes while soldering a repair. Keeps the joint dry for long enough.
This guy lives up to his name!
LOL, prolly been over 50 years since I first saw that.

Tried it once, wasn't as good as I heard, but then, I went easy in the bread.
Didn't want to clog things up and, more importantly, I only had one sandwich!

Why fix it? Because there was a fair amount of bondo in those areas, and I wasn't sure how rusty it was underneath and/or if anything needed to be addressed. Once the ugliness was revealed, I wanted to patch it to keep the rain out and to keep it from getting worse.

The A pillar patch was necessary, at least in my opinion, because that's structural.

Yeah, don't be the guy who has a big chunk of Bondo fall off on the track.
