Patching urethane top coat

I did something stupid and let some brake cleaner sit on my garage floor. When I wiped it, I sort of rubbed off some the urethane top coat (pretty much over the vinyl chips).

Can I repair this damage? If so, how?

If the stain didnt get into the chips, then you need to lightly sand with 36 grit paper, use a lightly damped rag with xylene, make sure its completely dry, then reaply your top coat.

if the chips are staind as well, lightly sand with 36 grit paper, use a lightly damped rag with xylene, make sure its completely dry, apply epoxy and rebroadcast your chips. Wait until next day, scrape the chips that didnt bond, apply a clear epoxy, then wait till next day and topcoat.

ofcourse this process could be sped up dramatically with the use of polyaspartics but being a DIY'r, you might not have access to it.

Is it possible to repair this area so it's not noticeable?

Not familiar with the product or process you're using, so impossible to say whether or not your patch job will be visible.

But if the area is subject to brake fluid leaks you might want to consider using a chemically resistant urethane to avoid future damage.

In his original post he says it is "BRAKE CLEANER" not brake fluid. Those are 2 completely different chemicals. He also is patching a urethane topcoat, so I would assume he already has a urethane on his floor.

I'm sure you must have misread the original post. Just a clarification.
