So I got myself and the garage an early Christmas present. Bought it on eBay, paid way too much, but it is a testament to american craftsmanship. I can't wait to get the bench built and get it mounted!

Built a workbench for the garage. 6x6 and 2x6 construction, topped with two layers of 3/4" hardwood plywood.

I missed your build the first time around. Very nice !

Too bad the price of brick is so high you could not have done the whole structure in matching brick. The flip side is, I love that shade of blue and the white trim really makes the whole thing "POP" !

Look nice, but kind of overkill, especially the two layers of 3/4" hardwood plywood. The 6x6 look recycled (good), but I would have gone with 3/4" CD ply and a 1/4" hardwood ply over lay (or if you really need the thickness 2 - 1/2" CD ply and a 1/2" hardwood ply over lay).

Thanks for the compliments.

We would have loved to do brick all the way up but they don't make our style of brick anymore and we didn't want the entire structure to be "close enough". If you look closely the brick doesn't match exactly but for the little bit showing it isn't too bad.

Yeah I agree it is overkill, but we had the 2x6's left over from construction and the 6x6's were left over from my buddy's pole barn, they were just long enough work had about an inch left over. Now as for the doubled up ply, I originally wanted to do a butcher block but that is really cost prohibitive and I knew I would be angry when it got damaged.
