Is their anyone on here who can design me a patio for my house. I'm cutting the eve off and attaching the patio directly to the roof. 15' x 50' by 8' high. Tearing down my old small patio that is tied into the roof. Simple clean design to make it look like the builder built it this way. If there is a cost I will pay. Here is a satellite photo of my house.

Looks good Mike! We did ours last year and am slowly picking away at the finishing. We raised ours up 14 inches and when I ran the wiring I forgot to put a metal strip over the area and when the stucco guys did their work they ran a nail right thru the new wires. I will tackle that this weekend. We love ours, it is on the south side of the house and now the complete south side of the house in is shade till late in the afternoon.

Looks GREAT, this is pretty much EXACTLY what I want to do off the back of my house, but my place is smaller and so it'll be less than half that length. I have a couple questions if you don't mind sharing:

1) Did you build yourself or hire it out? A rundown of costs would be AWESOME! I assume this is all s4s douglas fir?

2) Perhaps it's just the angle of the photos, but it looks like the beam sitting on top of the posts is only a 2x whereas the posts look to be 4x6. I would have thought you'd need a 4x on top of the 4x6 so the thickness was the same. I also assumed there needed to be T straps on both sides - which obviously would require the pieces to be the same thickness.

3) Did you remove the stucco and attach the ledger directly to the wall framing or did you place the ledger on top of the existing stucco?

Any tips/suggests are greatly appreciated.

I'm still learning the trade. I paid a friend to frame it and put the rolled roofing on. Cost for his labor is 2k. I bought the material and removed the trash I had 2600 in material cost. I'm prepping it for paint so I get the job of spraying it. Got a guy doing the electrical to wire up three fans and two GFI outlets and four ceiling speakers, then drywall and paint the ceiling.

Right on, thanks for that info - very helpful!
I wasn't even aware that a 3x10 existed - interesting. It did look larger than a 2x but clearly smaller than a 4x so I just assumed.

That awesome. I love having all this shade in the backyard. Can't wait till it's totally finished. Going to be heaven for future football seasons.

They also cut the eve off and attached to the trusses and load bearing wall.

Started priming the wood using a roller. Man oil base primer is messy as heck.

Got the last part of my patio concrete finished. 10x10 4" deep pad. Getting the electrical ran and installing 8 recessed lights, and three ceiling fans on Thursday. Now getting ideas for the patio ceiling. Kind of thinking wood planks or such. Open to ideas.

Those existing posts looked like they had metal standoffs to keep the wood away from the dirt/ground. Wood rot and termites.....

Yeah except one was on a concrete pier strap and the concrete is to the top of the concrete pier strap. I used silicone around the wood and concrete then coated it with roofing tar before painting it.

Nice porch.

Similar to what we are trying to get started, only ours is 16x35. It will be unfinished inside and eventually be converted to a screened in porch.

All the electrical is ran, and ceiling fan brackets installed. Next week getting the eight can lights installed. Almost finished with this patio. Going with reclaim shiplap wood for the ceiling. Going to look good when done.

Looks good Mike.

One small piece of advice. Go back and edit your posts hitting enter between each photo so they stack and we do not have to try to scroll sideways. Makes it much easier to look at the photos.

I'm looking forward to the finish!

I had a similar patio on my house that was falling apart. We decided to remove it, dig out the pool and add a room while doing a new patio. I am a fan of modern appearance and stucco. Yours turned out really nice and you will definitely enjoy the space.

That's sharp looking. Eventually I want a pool in the backyard. Got to see if the city would let me have a pool and a 30x30 shop in the backyard.

Drywall is up, 4x8 5/8". Textured, sanded, and primed. Painting it tomorrow semi gloss paint from PPG, then installing my ceiling fans, and Jamo 6.5" ceiling speakers with my Sonos connect amp. Winter time in Arizona will be nice.
