Okay, I put up hanging patio string LED lights for my wife. But they are too long. The string has 3 wires coming out of the plug, one wire attached to each light, then only 2 wires coming out of the final light into an female socket. Is there anyway to cut out 12 lights in the middle, splice the final light back on and call it good? The strings are 35 lights long.

odd the plug has a ground, but the receptacle doesn't. I dont see why you cant just cut and splice, doesn't change the fact that the end still doesn't have the ground.

I am assuming the patio lights use the same wiring that the 3 wire christmas lights use. I would think the same method used to shorten christmas lights would be used here but I can't say I understand the 3 wire christmas lights well enough to explain it.
