Just wondering if anybody's built a patio misting system on here. I did a couple of searches that didn't come back with much of anything.

I didn't like what I was seeing with the kits, so I bought a bunch of 1/2" PVC pipe, PVC fittings, a pile of nozzles, and a couple of bottles of Chimay for when I'm done :D

I'll be putting it up on my back patio, it's about 12' deep, 30' long, and the overhead is aboot 9' high. My plans (in my head anyway) are to put a nozzle every 24 or 30 inches and just run it around the perimeter of the eve.

I will not be installing a pump to boost the pressure...I'm keeping this project under $100 if at all possible (I'm currently sitting at about 90 bucks :D )

Any pitfalls I need to look out for? Any suggestions and/or advice would be great.

I had one from HD, it used 1/4" tubing. Only problem was the nozzles would get clogged. Can you get it to mist with that tube size? Great to have though, good luck, post some pics:)

they're great. I got a couple kits at walmart on clearance and put them up in the back patio. i put them up around the perimeter too and a loop around the umbrella over the table in the back yard. they work great.

but... which Chimay?

I one when I lived in So. Cal. It worked great, especially on a really hot, dry day.

Clogged nozzles seem to be impossible to avoid. I used to keep an extra set. I'd take the clogged ones and drop them in a jar of CLR and put the clean ones up. Only took about 10 minutes to swap them.
