I get all googly eyed at these huge scale, high dollar builds. Hopefully one day I'll get to that level, but for now this is what I have.

And what you have is double mine! I feel the same way though; all we can do is take inspiration and apply what we can to enjoy our own space. I'm really happy to just have a garage:thumbup:

Alright so lately I have been bit by the 'hot deal' bug. I have been buying up all the things that I have been wanting if I see them on sale. I consider tools a lifelong investment, so these are purchases that will literally last me a lifetime. (or at least that is how I am justifying them to myself :)) Of course I had to take some pics, and you'll have to pardon the lame cell phone camera pics, the battery on my DSLR is charging.

I replaced the motor mounts yesterday on my daily driver (excuse to use my engine hoist) and all my new hand tool purchases came in very handy!

Oh yeah I also picked up an Arcan low profile floor jack at Costco the other day. I gotta say its a pretty nice unit for the price.

Nice jack! looks like it is pretty low. I have to drive up a series of home made ramps when i want to do anything on my GLI, just so i can get my jack under the car.

Nice jack! how much was it? i got an aluminium 2 1/4 ton Michelin low profile for $170ish and thought it was an ok deal.

Dubber, use the stock crank jack to get you started, then finish off with whatever fits under the car. I did that for years... actually, I still use a series of junkyard crank jacks when swapping wheels between vehicles or for winter - just find them easier to manouver corner to corner.

I love that jack! We have had two of them at my buddies place for a few years now and they are holding up great. We were on par for a jack (or set) a year before we picked them up. Now that I should be moving into my own garage I want to pick up a second.

Your garage looks great man! The house we are tying to get has a 19x19 garage, so I am in the same boat as you with floor space. I will be borrowing some of your ideas :)

Great garage, nice to see a lot of organization in a small space.

Love the Maximas, you have a 00vi on that 4th gen? I just got rid of my 96 due to rust/not passing emissions and it makes me sad to this day.

Very Nice! Nice maxima's too! I like how you park in the garage to free up all of the extra space. I plan to park one of my cars close to the wall like you do.

No 00vi for me, MEVI here. They have been great cars for me. My 4th gen is starting to get some rust on the frame and a couple tiny spots on the body. Hopefully I can keep it from spreading too bad.

Awesome! Post up some pics when you make some progress.

$100 if I remember correctly. Great value in my opinion. It just squeaks underneath my silver Maxima and that car is sitting pretty low.

Glad to hear you are getting good service from the jack, I hope to get many years out of it. I had the Craftsman aluminum 'racing' jack. It was riddled by the common piston leaking problems that those jacks are known for so I finally decided enough was enough.

Hopefully you get the house!

Well its been 4+ months since I have updated my thread. Not a whole lot of 'new' going on in the garage. Been doing a lot of work on the cars lately. Gotta put those tools to work!

I did pick up a used car recently. I managed to pick up another A-chassis Nissan product. This time an Infiniti I35. Super clean inside and out. Needed a little work and a little of my touch. Gave it a full detail with Griot's products, got the windows done and just got done with the suspension this morning. Figured I would share a pic or 2 since I haven't posted in a while.

Hey Rick! Thanks for checking in. I have been going back and forth on flooring. I have ruled out Racedeck based on the fact that it won't be suitable for how often I will be jacking up my vehicles.

I have picked out several shades of grey porcelain tile that I am planning on setting in the spring once it warms up.

I will have some new pics to share after I get my new tool box and vice set up!

Otherwise, I have just been doing work out there in the garage and enjoying the space as it sits.

The main thing is that your garage is working for you and you enjoy working in it. The RD can be fickle with regard to jacks/stands, but with the 3/4" rubber matting I found, I am finding lifting the car to be a breeze. But, I can see the appeal of a tile floor as well. Keep us updated.

Snapped a quick shot of the new tool chest. At first I was dead set on painting it black. But now the red is kind of growing on me. Time will only tell....

You can kind of see the sample tiles I have for my floor project off to the right on the floor.

Subscribing. You're doing a lot with not much space. I feel limited with my garage sometimes and it's a full 4 feet wider and a foot deeper. Keep it coming!

Hey garage looks killer i will be subscribing the only thing i would recommend with the toolbox being down on the ground like that they are prone to rotting out so i would make sure you have some type of moisture barrier even if is is something as simple as putting it off the ground with a 1X4 good luck!

A little update.

The toolbox is still red and I think I will be leaving it that way.

I came into a TV recently and decided to make it fit above my cabinets. Its a 43in. Samsung 720p Plasma. When the house was under construction I had the builder put a cable jack and outlet up there with the intention that I would someday put a TV up on the wall. I had to move the shelf I have my receiver on to the right to accommodate. I had a wall mount sitting in a closet so I strapped it right to the wall. Its a bit cold out still so I probably won't be using it much til it warms up but I am excited to have some friends and family over for the ball games and talking shop.

I know a plasma is not the most ideal for a non-indoor setting but I have been monitoring the temperature fluctuations and with the coldest part of the winter behind us the lowest it got in the garage was 48deg. In the heat of the summer it does not get above 80deg. Moisture was also a concern and although I don't have any scientific proof, it does not seem like I get any condensation in the garage whatsoever. But for free, I'll take it!

Our garages suggest we have lots in common. The TV is a nice luxury for sure. I like that Griot's sign. Can't find a way to get one.

Great decision keeping the box red ;)

Also i commend you on the foresight of having the builder put the outlet in there when you initially had the place built.

Its funny getting the outlet and a conduit put in the wall in my living room for a tv was one of the decisions I'm most fond of from when we did our place.

Looks great! Our garage sizes are nearly the same as you said, so it's interesting to watch what you've done with your space :) We have similar paint schemes, except for yours is kind of reversed from mine  Looking forward to future updates!

Well the weather was awesome today. (Nearly 70!) I was off work today so I decided to clean up the garage a bit. I vacuumed all the crevices along where the floor meets the walls and where the walls meet the ceiling. Got things put away that had been left out over winter. (snow shovels and heater) Snapped a few pics of course!

While I was just enjoying the day in the garage and the driveway, I noticed that I had overlooked the header above the garage door. When I originally painted I left the header in its bare wood form to come back to later. Well its been a couple years later and I decided to dig through my paint supply and get a couple coats on it! Went with the usual black. Pardon the low light pic. I remember seeing Rick (55cadillacking) paint his a couple years back and thought it was pretty slick. Thanks for the inspiration!

I am excited to see the weather improve. It gets the juices flowing. I hope to get my tile floor squared away before spring is over. I also want to improve my ceiling light situation. Two 4 foot T8 fixtures is not cutting it.

You and I, both. The weather here has been pretty mild and it definitely gets the adrenaline pumping. I'm looking forward to a summer wheel-swap, some detailing and just puttering about!

Thanks for the update. I have a strong interest in your garage. I like seeing what people can do with their doubles.

Great to see your garage continuously improving.

Any thoughts about figuring out a shelf to hold those containers of oil and your jack stands?

I could get the oil cans up on a shelf a suppose. I prefer the jack stands on the floor so they are easy to slide into place. They do get a good bit of use.

And no real updates to speak of for the garage. Been getting a little bit of use out of the TV watching the games and what not.

I admittedly have an affinity for OEM wheels on my cars. And I just picked up another set of wheels to try out on the i35. Got a nice deal on a set of G35 Coupe wheels. I have about 10 different sets of OEM Nissan/Infiniti wheels stored in my Dad's attic. A sickness I know....

Anyhow here is the obligatory photo of said wheels.
