Day after christmas went to a disapointing estate sale ( guy would have a good career writing ads) stopped in a shop along the way to see what they had.
Macto 3/8" impact $ 65.00.
Mac puller $ 25.00

I thought they were fair prices also, except the whole store was 50% off.
$ 32.50 for the impact, which i picked up for my son ( maybe mine will be where I need it, like in my tool box) The puller $ 12.50.

Just wish I had more cash on me.

Pawn shops around me have gone south, used to get some great deals. Owners say people sell there stuff on CL. instead of pawning. .10 on the$1 might be part of it too.

There are no deals around me. I drove almost an hour away on a shopping trip with the wife-to-be before I stumbled across my $15 servicing cart. Needless to say, you both deserve a...

the local pawn shops here really ****. The prices are way too high for used tools. Not to mention, if it says blue point, mac, or snap on, even if its been drug under a truck down a concrete highway for miles, still is priced higher then what I can score them here or on ebay for, in perfect condition. I hardly ever make a trip into them anymore.

Nice deal.

There's some pawns near me with good stuff... I got a pair of like new SK 3/8" extensions (6" and 12") for 4 bucks out the door. Also got an IR 1/4" stubby air ratchet for $20 and a USA-made Rodac air drill for $25.

Have you tried to offer them lower prices? In my experience, their stuff tends to be priced pretty high, but unless they just put it out there, they're usually willing to take a lot less.

Here's what I found today, $10. Not pictured is a Craftsman wrench and a Proto adjustable wrench. L to R, 3 Snap On's,2 Industro's and 6 Blackhawks including the extension all marked USA. Love the Plomb wrench.

Not that familiar with the Blackhawks. What are they compairable to? They had a few more, I just picked up the metric sizes.

We have several chain "Pawn America" or "Pawn 1" shops and they don't bargain much. There are two independents which specialize in tools and will always come way off their ridiculous sticker price. (Example: $2495 for a Snap-on taco cart.)

Yesterday, there was a scruffy Dynabrade 6" orbital auto body sander for $20 in their "as-is" corner. I got it out the door for $10 cash, no receipt. At home, I found it actually works fine and adjusts speed, just doesn't shut off. I took it apart and it is missing the $10 on-off valve and spring, which I ordered.

The list price on the sander is $225 and the pawnies usually ask $100 for a clean, used one, so $20 for a scruffy but works fine machine is good for me.
