Just had to get out of the house today, so took a trip across town to one of the few remaining pawn shops who sell bin tools. Didn't know if I find anything new with the shutdown keeping people away, but found lots of new stock. I guess people are hocking stuff to get cash.

Here's the handful of stuff I grabbed for $5. Among the grab are a Proto flexible spinner handle, WIHA precision driver (bent but saveable), a pair of no-name zerk fitting tools, plus a NEST Wi-Fi thermostat driver.

These were included in the early batches of NEST thermostats as a sort of promotional item. Once the original inventories ran dry, the drivers were NLA. Really lucky to find it.

When money’s tight pawn shops have lots of stock. I have not gone to local shop but they are open. Pawn shop is financial institution so essential.

Well, I got the Wiha driver shank straightened, the stubby 4-in-1 filled with the proper pieces, and the Proto spinner traded off. Pretty busy day! :lol_hitti

The Wiha screwdriver looks like my wife got ahold of it for a "handy" prybar.

lol The driver shank was only slightly bent and not pushed past the steel's limit, so I knew I could coax it back into shape. Thank heaven for steel's "memory".

and here I am only going out for essentials...

Arizona is a little less restrictive on their lockdown. I figured if liquor stores and pot joints are open them I'm gonna search pawn shops for tools. Glad I did. Found a few sweet pieces.

Has nothing to do with a government mandated lock down. It's about protecting yourself and those around you
