When I was fresh out of high school I landed a job as a plumber's apprentice and I started I met some really great guys that were doing well in there careers. As they would assign a task to me I didn't always have the tools needed to do what they asked. Every once in a while some journey man would say "Here take this tool I've got a new one so you keep this one so you can save a little money kid." And I was very greatful for there generosity. Fast forward 25-30 years and working as a firefighter now I run across rookies that are just getting started themselves, or purchasing a new house and spent everything they have to just get moved in. I'm finding myself doing the same thing that those journey man did for me.
Most of us already do this and don't even realize it. So here's the challenge. If you upgrade a tool and the old one is still good, pass it along to a guy that could put it to good use to get them started. Or if you have some materials left over and it could help someone out. If your a little tight on the funds give a little bit of your time to finish a project and share your skills. And then post it here. Not to be braggadocios but to give a nudge to someone who the thought didn't cross there mind yet. I'm curious to see how many younger men we can get to put the video game controller down and get out into the garage/shop!
